Hello Kelly,
I am a 32-year old man who is currently in a "slump" because I feel like time is slipping away from me and I am getting old. And then I stumbled upon articles about you and Dr. Bob Delmonteque and I was simply amazed. Bob looks better at 85 than any of my 20 and 30-something friends ever did, and you look simply phenomenal, and you are 77??? When my grandmother was 72 she suffered a stroke and spent the last 2 years of her life wasting away in a nursing home. And look at how incredible you are. I just felt inspired to write you and tell you that you are an inspiration to all of us. I can't wait until 5PM today so I can hit the gym...
God Bless you,
Gabriel

Dear Kelly,
Thanks for the inspiration! I am 46, a mother of four and a personal trainer at Bally Total Fitness in Toronto, Ontario. I am doing some research into the effects of anti-aging programs both natural and otherwise.
Wow! I had heard of you before in passing conversations about older people who have achieved and maintained incredible goals later in life, thus always giving me the hope to propel onward but, today, for the first time I actually checked into a website! Totally blew me away! You are a work of art and an amazing inspiration for me. I decided to no longer wallow in my "boo-hoo-ness" today, but I've got my gym bag packed and I'm off for some stress relief and an awesome workout!
As a trainer, it is often very easy for me to prescribe but some days, living the example can be a little tough! Thanks so much for the incentive!!!!
Sincerely,
Doris

Dear Kelly,
You don't know me, but I know of you. I have one of
your video's that I purchased at Target about a year ago and I've been on
you and your daughters website and am now reading the Fit Over 40 book
that you recommend on your site. I don't know if you answer emails from
complete strangers, but I thought I'd email you anyway. I'm sure glad you
are being who you are! Thank you for not being old. Thank you for role
modeling a new path for those upper numbers in life. Your right about
aging is a disease and you don't have it!! I'm so PROUD of you and
thankful for you also. I needed a role model and your it!!!! I'm 50 and I
started exercising about 8 years ago. Nothing like you , but I finally got
up and got moving. Now that my kids are away from home, I do spend
more time at the gym and I ride my bike around the lake (9.5 miles)
several times a week. For my 50th birthday I hired myself a personal
trainer for 12 weeks and she gave me a routine, taught me form and
inspired me along with you. Anyway, I'm now just trying to keep a
exercise routine and buy into the correct thinking so I can be really
fit.
Thanks again for making good choices about your health
and mobility in life and sharing your story with others. Thanks for not
buying into that old age crap. Thanks for cutting a path where there
wasn't one. You have inspired me.
Sincerely,
Cecilia
October 20, 2005 Hello Kelly, Just letting you know how much I am enjoying the Ageless video set. You two are such natural teachers. When I am working out at the gym I just push 'play' in my head and remember that it's 'like sawing a log' on rows or 'hugging a bear' on flyes. Goodbye to my top dumbell 20's across the board, now 38.5's are my last on back exercises and 41.8's on squats thanks to the Ageless video visualization. Your advice is precious to me - ... Sincerely, Delia October 04, 2005 Hello Kelly, I received the videos yesterday 3rd
October! That is really good going versus 14th October, Hooray! Now the best
part - yes, you and Colleen are live and in colour on my TV. Funny things
videos, been around for ages and seen by some as dated, but beats a DVD
internationally. You are right about seeing correct
form. I have learned mostly from
books until now. I feel a real
sisterhood with you two when I see you huffing and puffing on the advanced
workout. It has taken me almost three
years to get to 22lb dumbbells and I crave the size that goes with
heavier. I now have a how-to
blueprint on video and as a busy Mom with little children, I trust that God
will get me there one rep at a time. Thanking you for all your time and trouble. Sincerely,
Delia
October 02, 2005 Ms. Nelson you are a great example of an adult woman who has lived a healthy lifestyle. I was shocked at your pictures and the stats on your strength. I am a Dr. who is also a bodybuilder. My aunt who is 15 yrs your junior as never exercised. I try to explain the benefits to no avail. She doesn't have the strength to open jars, and is beginning to hunch over. I showed her your pictures and stats and she thought it was fake. Please send me an email to confirm the facts. I appreciate your help not only for my aunt but also for my patients.

September 15, 2005 Hi Kelly, I bought your training video some months ago and I just thought I'd
fill you in on my progress. I finally got it together to begin to train
consistently a couple of months back, after several periods of sporadic
activity. I have been following the principles and techniques you demonstrate
in your videos, and for the first time ever, am seeing concrete results.
Overall I'm really pleased with how things are going. My only weight problem
was the lack of it, and building muscle has never come easy. However a consistent programme, coupled with a high intake of protein
are really doing the trick however slowly. I gather that I appear to be what's
called in the jargon, a "hard gainer"! (very hard) Anyway thanks very much for your instruction, and most importantly your
inspiration. Incidentally, looking at your approach - it would appear that you make
no concession to age whatsoever - it might be training for the ageless, but
as far as I can see, it’s the perfect training for any age. Is that fair
comment? Even better is that I've told my wife about you, and shown your
pictures. After her initial gasps of amazement - I told her that was my
reaction too - she is now completely inspired and has started training with a
fury that is quite frankly, frightening. Her muscularity is already beginning
to outstrip mine even after a short time, - even thought she gave birth less
than 9 weeks ago. She clearly is not a hard gainer! … When are you competing next?
You have fans out in the world that are keen to keep up with you
amazing achievements. The very best wishes to you Kelly, you are and continue to be an
inspiration. David
April 30, 2005 Hi. I saw pictures of Kelly and I have never
been so positively impressed about the beauty of a mature woman. I am 42 and have a wife of 38. Nothing
wrong with my wife but talking about beauty and sex appeal she cannot compare
to Kelly. Kelly is superior in this comparison. O.k. I believe Kelly is 50+, but I do not
believe that she is 75. That must be a trick to get attention. But she can
get this attention also when she is 30 years younger. B&C
April 24, 2005 Hello Kelly, I have just down loaded the free chapters of the ebook
Fit over 40. I was so impressed by you that I just had to drop you a line.
You look so good and not just for your age, but good for any age. I am just
turning 40 on the 26th of this month and I am always looking for ways to
maintain my level of fitness. What impressed me the most is that you look
this good as a vegetarian. I too am a vegetarian and I am constantly
being told that I need meat to maintain my muscles and iron level.
I eat a lacto-ovo-vegetarian diet and add 500 mg of Vitamin C to
each meal to aid the absorption of iron. I also work out 5-6 days a week
doing weights and cardio on alternate days. I look 29 and friends and family
are surprised by my appearance and strangers always want to see
identification when my age is revealed. Keep up the good work; you are an inspiration not only
to your peers but also to women 30 years and more you junior. Dawn July 22, 2002 My name is Megan. My husband,
William, has written you regarding some of the photos you were offering for
sale on your web site Actually, all that was my idea. I have all three of your videos
and have used them to really wonderful effect. I like them much better than
the so-called "big budget" productions, since it deals with solid,
basic weight-training technique and less on flash or silly tips. Thank you.
Thank you. We have a collection of photos
of various weightlifters in our gym - so far all male. I pushed Bill to
contact you about getting a shot of you and your mother, Kelly, to hang on
the wall. Since he tells me that you're sold out of the individual shots, I'm
trying to talk him into a double shot of you and Kelly. No luck so far.
Stubborn old man! (g) Just wanted to send you a note
of appreciation and gratitude. Take care, May 21, 2002 I am 59 years old and have been
body building for the past 10 years. 20 years ago I had my first open heart
surgery to repair my valve. On September 11th (yes,September 11th) in New
York I had my second surgery. So September 11th changed my life in many ways
since I live in Manhattan. This surgery they replaced my valve with a mechanical
valve and I also have a pacemaker. I am back to body building but lost the
little bit of muscle I worked so hard to achieve. I'm only 5" and 100
lbs. You are a great inspiration, since there are few older women who are
body building. I eat a body builder's diet, protein and complex carbs but
wonder is there anything else to do to put on more muscle without having to
lift heavy, since I'm somewhat limited these days. I work out 6 days a week,
and your video is an inspiration to me. Nancy April 20, 2002 I recently purchased the first
video in the series because of the photos with you and your mom on the cover
that included both of your ages. I have been obese for about 10 years. I
gained a lot of weight with my last pregnancy and ever since have been
fighting a battle that I just cannot seem to win. I know that weight training
along with proper nutrition and cardio are the key, but I have become so
discouraged in my efforts to make this a part of my life. I recently found
out that I'm "insulin resistant" which helps to explain to me why
all of the effort I was putting forth didn't seem to get very big results. I
feel as if I have lost the ability to encourage myself to believe that I can
really have the body I desire. I am not certain exactly of what I am hoping
to gain from writing you, but I guess I just don't know where a woman who is
almost 270 lbs., insulin resistant, and very, very discouraged emotionally
and psychologically, should begin. I need to see results and I feel as if I don't
have the strength physically or emotionally to fail again. I was so impressed
with all of the knowledge you conveyed in the video and I was hoping that you
might have some wisdom for my very out of shape body, mind and heart. Thank
you so much for your time. Best Regards, Kimberly March 26, 2002 You guys are both great! What
an inspiration! I will be 50 next year, and I have a daughter who is 20 years
old. I would LOVE to one-day see her and I as you two are shown today! Thanks
for being living examples of what exercise can do! Anonymous June 14, 2001 May 07, 2001 I stumbled onto your web site
and I just had to write! To say that you are anything but stunning would be
an understatement! Amazing that any woman could look so tight and toned at 72
years of age! You are an inspiration! Congrats and much success! I'm only 44, but must confess
my head would turn fast if ever I saw you walking down the street! Good Luck! Jack May 06, 2001 December 26, 2001 I just wanted to say that I saw
you on Ripley's tonight and I was so impressed that I had my husband write
down your names, so I could look you up on the Internet! I plan on ordering
your tapes! I am 46 and planning on doing an overhaul of my body in 2002. I
e-mail you pictures of my progress with your program down the road if you are
interested in them. I have about 100 pounds to lose and I know that building
muscle and going to a clean diet is the only answer. October 4, 2000 With gratitude and awe, I want
to thank you for giving me hope that my body can change. I purchased your
third tape and saw that weight training isn't just a couple of pounds of
weights to push up and down. Weight training may turn into your pounds of
weight but, the video helped me to see that I need to challenge myself with
whatever weights I can lift and work hard, be committed, be consistent and
believe in myself. Today I bought some candy
before I worked out and for the first time I was aware and felt as if someone
had added 10 pounds of sludge through my veins. I was so tired and could
hardly work out. Is this the effect of 'fat' to the body? Can you tell me
anything else about fat that would encourage me to not eat it besides that it
is not good for you? I know that it is not good for me but, some things are
more meaningful to me when explained to me in a different kind of way. Also,
what kind of food will satisfy my wondering eyes from eating everything I
don't need. What I mean is sometimes I crave food just to eat it. Do you go
through spells like this? Also, in your tape you held up
some products and called them hi protein bar, cappuccino bar, 50 50 plus, and
optimized weight in chocolate of course. Are you talking about supplements? Warm Regards, April 07, 2000 I saw you photo today in a
magazine, I believe it is called "Body" at Siemen's health food
store in Las Vegas, Nevada. My life has been changed. You have inspired me to
look like you when I am 72! I am 35 now, in good shape, I jog every other
day, but no weights. I now will increase my exercise. I already eat well,
mostly organic, plus fresh veggies & fruits every day. I e-mailed your picture and
your site to my entire mailing list. Thank you for being such an inspiration.
God bless you. Sincerely, March 9, 2000 Thank you for your reply. I'm
quite interested in body-strengthening. Ten years ago, before 4
pregnancies (2 children survived), I swam ¾ miles three times weekly. My
upper body was well-developed and my cardiovascular system was strong indeed! I've been thinking that, in
spite of my diluted attempts at re-strengthening, that it was all downhill
from here. When I saw the age your mom started with, I virtually salivated
there-it can happen! I'll be 40 in June, and have been doing weights about 2
times weekly since July of last year. Will visit your web site…hoping
my body will respond (at my advanced age ... ha ha ha!) as did your mom's! Thanks, February 27, 2000 The "Muscling Into
Fitness" article written by Noella Garrick was in our Lifestyles section
of our paper this weekend. What a wonderful article about you both and I hope
that helps encourage other people to develop a love for exercise or weight
lifting. My wife started last year to help with sculpting and goes 3 to 4
days a week and then does cardiovascular 2 other days. The article was
encouraging to her plus the health aspect of a healthier body as we both age.
I have been very active in sports and weights for quite a few years after
college and luckily most people guess my age about 15 years younger than I
am. When the great-grandchildren
are old enough, I hope you have fun giving them ski lesion. I have been
skiing for 28 years and just love it. I am in charge of Skier Development for
our local ski club and also give free lesions to members in the club. Also,
when we go on week trips I usually take ½ day off in the middle of the week
to help some of the beginner and intermediate skiers. Some of the advanced
skiers get a lesson in hard knocks by following me down the runs when we
don't know where we are going…ha ha ha. Our club went to Chamonix
France last year and then we just came back from Davos Switzerland this year.
Next month some of us are going to Banff Canada (in Alberta). A couple of
friends are going to meet up with the club and my brother is taking a week
off of this Medical practice out west to join us in the trip. Take Care February 21, 2000 Hi! I saw your impressive
pictures in the Arizona Republic, and I have to commend you for your
accomplishments. I was wondering what you regime consists of, and also your
diet. I'm a teacher in Phoenix who has been working out for along time, but I
would like to hear what you do to keep in such fantastic shape. I am 48 years
old, and I am also planning to keep this up for the rest of my life. I
thought I was in good shape, but I could use a little inspiration these days… Hope you don't mind…I just lost
my mom, and I have not been going to the gym as I had in the past…I am going
to continue, but your inspiration might be just what I need to carry on…It's
so great that you have each other to motivate…You're blessed! Sincerely, December 5, 1999 I saw your awesome pictures in
Musclemag No. 212.1 I'm 50 and my husband is 60. He
just won the Mr. USA 60+ in September. We're both personal trainers and would
like to have more information on your video. You can e-mail us more
information. Thank you very much. |
